One Man. One Mic.
Every Sound Imaginable.

Jamin J. Lamont — also known as Jammin Jay Lamont and born Joe Nash — is a professional comedian, impressionist, and vocalist who has redefined what a solo stage act can be. Born the son of a preacher in Oklahoma City, he grew up making every sound imaginable to make people laugh and cheer.

A graduate of Langston University with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, Lamont began his career as a radio personality in Oklahoma City and Houston before realizing his true calling was the live stage. He packed up and moved to Los Angeles, where he still resides today — and where his one-man show became legendary.

Billed as "The Human iPod," he performs with no band, no backline, no DJ, and no background singers — just a quality microphone, a sound system, and an audience ready to party. His clean, upscale act blends comedy, celebrity impressions, beatboxing, and full vocal performances into a show that earns standing ovations night after night.

Beyond comedy clubs, Lamont has taken his talents to concert stages, casino theaters, cruise ships, and major music festivals — opening for national recording artists and hosting events like the Riverside Rhythms Music Festival in California.

  2. College

    Langston University

Earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Langston University, building the communication skills that would later power both his radio career and his commanding stage presence.

  3. Radio

    Oklahoma City & Houston

Worked as a radio personality for stations in Oklahoma City and Houston, Texas. During his Houston years, he performed at local comedy clubs and opened for artists including The Gap Band, The O'Jays, and the late Roger Troutman.

  4. LA

Los Angeles & the Big Stage

Realizing live performance was his destiny, Lamont moved to Los Angeles. He appeared on BET's Comic View (Season 1), Showtime at the Apollo, Def Comedy Jam, and Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza — quickly becoming one of the most versatile acts in comedy.

  5. AGT

    America's Got Talent

Competed on Season 6 of America's Got Talent, delivering a show-stopping audition: beatboxing "Hail to the Chief" while impersonating President Barack Obama. Though eliminated in the Vegas Round, the performance showcased the vocal dexterity that defines his act.

  6. Now

    Concert Stages & Beyond

Lamont left the comedy club circuit for concert stages worldwide — opening for Mary J. Blige on 13 cities of her Liberation tour, performing on Disney, Princess, and Celebrity Cruise Lines, and starring in the hit stage play Mama's Sweet Potato Pie as a lead vocalist in two R&B groups.
